Anglerbe's Soundtrack of the Week

Punctual as always.
The Legend of Zelda Minish Cap

Cloud Tops
Arguably my favorite 2D game in the zeries(that was a typo, but I'm leaving it for bad pun's sake), Minish Cap has a very Zelda-worthy soundtrack as well. This particular track shines as possibly the best in the game, although there are some close seconds. It echos with an adventurous tone. I admit I spent many hours traversing the clouds and falling through them, just trying to figure out where to go. I did get it eventually though, and besides that, I had this song to accompany me.

Gamed2Death Update on Stuff 5/31/13 with Anglerbe

That title pretty much says it all.

But in case you want a little more, I recently purchased Silent Hill HD Collection (apparently a mistake, but I'll get over it if I can), Rainbow Six Rouge Spear, the 2nd game in the R6 series(to my knowledge), and finally, a USB to 3.5 Audio Adapter. The adapter seems to work so far, but the USB Coupler I have doesn't, meaning I still won't be able to stream both a microphone and game audio--yet. I'm working on it though. In addition to the Silent Hill 1 and Call of Juarez LPs, I hope to be able to do some on these in the not too distant future (even if that means a few months or so.) That's probably it for now, but if anything else comes up I'll be sure to let you know. All 6 of you that read these things. Thanks.

New Youtube Banners May 2013

Given Youtube's new, stunningly innovative design (another useless structural change, although I guess I have to admit this one made some additions for the better), we were given the choice of either leaving our channels bland and stupid, or we could decorate them with a fancy image of our choice (which had bizarre dimensional requirements, I must say); obviously, I felt driven to accept the latter option, and skipping forward a bit, here are some of the products of that decision:

Anglerte's (mine :D):

 StevieJay's:
Sorry about the random, shaded areas, I didn't make a decent-looking version of Steven's banner because that would honestly be pointless; yes, this is the size requirement for the new banner; no they don't make cropping things convenient.
Porpoisemonkey's:

Ooooh, slacking a bit. Understandable....hehehe

Happy Memorial Day!

Thank you to all those that made sacrifices to protect our liberties and allow us to live the peaceful lives we are able to live today! We didn't forget to do something special, we're just going to be a bit late with it, all standard procedure at this point. In the mean time, here's a flashback to last year's memorial day special:

Anglerbe's Soundtrack of the Week

Just a little late this time....

City Escape (Modern)
The modern version of City Escape is my favorite level in Generations thus far (given that I haven't beaten it as of the time of this post). The level pays homage to its roots while also putting some creative twists on the level, such as the killer UPS truck having saw blades attached and driving on walls...anyway, staying consistent with the level design, this track is a remix/remake of the song from SA2, performed by the same band. While not quite as good as the original, it comes about as close as you could get...

Slenderman's Playground Trailer

Another original Slender game, developed in Unity by ibuildcircuits. We'll definitely be recording a "gameplay and commentary" video for this one when it is released, and then we'll make Stefanovich117 and StevieJay play it. So ultimately, this should be pretty interesting...and if it's not, we'll force it to be.

Our Most Popular Let's Play Videos as of May 2013

It's been a while since we've progressed through a let's play segment, or recorded gameplay of any time actually, so I decided to go through some of our older stuff as to develop a mental list of improvements that we will certain apply to the videos we'll be recording this summer, which will hopefully be of great artistic quality and plentiful in quantity (or something interesting like that; I'm not too good with applying exaggerated marketing terms).
Any way, I decided to search for the most popular "let's play" videos on each of our channels, because that's probably the wisest place to start if I want to learn from my success (or my failure, I suppose; I'm not exactly sure what entertains people, all I know is that a lot of German and British people tend to "dislike" our let's play videos), and I discovered the following:

Most Popular Let's Play Video on Anglerbe's Channel:

(598 views at the time of this post)
I'm not sure why this one in particular received so much attention, but hey two "likes"!
Most Popular Let's Play Video on My (Anglerte's) Channel:

(356 views at the time of this post)
Given the content and Eljoeyo's appearance, for this game particularly, I believe the findings make a bit more sense. Interestingly, my most popular "let's play" video was rewarded with a dislike and an awing 0 likes.

Most Popular Let's Play Video on Porpoisemonkey's Channel:

Hahahahaha Porpoisemonkey and popularity can't be conceptualized together in any form. Alright, fine:

(pshshhh, XD 6-pshhhHAHAHAHA sor-hahaha....oh...oh...uh...man, that's rich. Hehe, sorry about that; 62 views at the time of this post)

Please like, subscribe, comment! Actually, I don't care if you do that stuff, just enjoy our content! And if you don't, oh well. Thanks for viewing!

Anglerbe's Near-Future Ideas/Goals For May/June

Alright, I'm gonna keep this one pretty simple. Basically, I've been pretty busy lately(really, everyone at G2D has). However, several major games have released recently(major for me, anyway) which I want to do video/commentary on. These include the console version of RE: Revelations, which we will probably get for WiiU once we acquire one, and Call of Juarez Gunslinger.

Regarding Revelations(and other such alliteration) I want to at least do a video on the PS3 demo in the near future, possibly using Google+ so others can commentate on it.

As for Call of Juarez, I am toying with the idea of doing a blind Let's Play of it to hold us off until we can get everyone together to finish up Silent Hill.

That's pretty much it for this late-night update. Sorry for my absence from YouTube recently, probably should have said that first. Somehow that reminds me that Dinofriend and I have been playing Carnivores Cityscape online lately whenever we find the time, so feel free to join us if you see us on there. Here's the video I created for it, since I'm going on this tangent already.
Alright, NOW I think I've said all I have to say for the night. So thanks for reading, we appreciate it. Hope to see you soon(virtually).

Anglerte's Soundtrack of the Week

Cabela's Dangerous Hunts
A suspenseful, tactical soundtrack like this respectfully and effectively supports the tone of the game, depicting emotions specific to the moment before one embarks upon a deadly quest to run and shoot stuff. This track could easily be used to enhance moments of intense preparation for a survival situation.

Anglerbe's Soundtrack of the Week

I got the memo for posting extended Resident Evil soundtracks.
Resident Evil 2

Wreckage of the Mad Experiment
This is an interesting track from RE2 for more reasons than one. Firstly, it only plays in one room, an experiment room that you can only access if you enter faked umbrella IDs as both characters in the laboratory. The room was apparently destroyed by an escaped creature (hence the name of the track). Whether this creature was William Birkin or something else, I am not certain. Another interesting  fact is that this track was later remixed to create Wesker's theme in Umbrella Chronicles. Regarding qualities, the track has a very ominous mood, in such a way that it prompts the listener to wonder what exactly took place here.

Anglerte's Soundtrack of the Week

This selfless person was generous enough to share an hour long version of this piece with the world. I find it difficult to narrow my list of favorite Resident Evil safe room themes down to one or two items, but I have to say, thanks to several influential factors (and this soundtrack is one of them), Code Veronica (X, if it makes a huge difference) is probably my second favorite RE, while the rest of 0-3 tie for third. Every aspect of 5 should be renamed to something unrelated to "Resident Evil", and 6 can pretty much burn. I haven't played Revelations yet, but we'll most likely be purchasing it for the Nintendo Wii U. Anyway, more relevant to this specific soundtrack, it basically translates the game's underlying theme into musical form; you're starting to get somewhere (granted, somewhere overwhelming, mysterious, unsettling and presumably horrifying in almost every aspect), but you've a long way to go before the full truth is uncovered, and it seems that new darkness is born every second that passes. For now, there is safety, time for reflection; but how long may that last?

Anglerte's Soundtrack of the Week

I hadn't played this game for about seven years until I decided to add it to the "G2D 45 Nostalgic Games" list and we played the multiplayer mode with Porpoisemonkey (I'll put that video below for those interested[shouldn't be too many of you]). A few weeks after that (a few months ago, now) the game was rereleased for the Ps3 and I decided to do a full play-through  on the Gamecube while I waited for the new version to go on sale. I was amazed at the number of entities that immediately seemed familiar despite the fact that I hadn't really thought about the game for over half a decade. I played through the full game and the "final story", something I had never been able to do when I was younger, and decided two major things (there we way more than two, but for now I'll keep my description limited): One, the games story was depressingly worse and plot-hole ridden than I remembered, and Two, most of the game's soundtrack is just awesome (definitely cheesy in several instances, but my statement stands strong), particularly the main theme "Live and Learn" (100% guarantee that if I survive long enough, that soundtrack will be one of my selections for this long-term list in the near future). I guess Jburitto watched people play this game on Youtube (we'll make him play it himself, fear not, as well as the first one), and now he can't get this song stuck out of his head. Which is a good thing. Actually, I had the same experience when replaying this game and then again after hearing it in Sonic Generations. Matt from Adamant Ditto did a better job of explaining this soundtrack and the first level of this game (please just play the hero story first) than I feel like doing, so I'll just post a link to his review, and hopefully he doesn't sue me or something (if the reader of this post is a member of Adamant Ditto, hello, my name is Porpoisemonkey).

He talks about it around 3:51 :

And here's this:

Anglerbe's Soundtrack of the Week

Silent Hill

Silent Hill Theme
This track is one of the best in all of gaming. Akira Yamaoka definitely put work into this piece. With a plethora of instruments, the song transitions between many different moods in a smooth-flowing and effective manner, from the eerie mandolin intro to the James Bond segment.

Anglerbe's Soundtrack of the Week

On time as usual.
Sonic Adventure 2

 Lost Colony
This track sets a perfect mood for a dark, mysterious, long-abandoned space station. It combines elements of creepiness with the usual Jen Senoue stuff, creating a surprisingly atmospheric and yet action provoking background theme.
