Games that Need to be Modified and Ported (cont.)

Luigi's Mansion (Should be ported to 3DS, Wii U, Android, IOS )

Granted, the Wii definitely wasn't Nintendo's greatest accomplishment, but a game like Luigi's mansion would have been interesting to try with the Wii's control scheme. With a sequel for the 3DS arriving at the end of the year,  porting the original to the 3DS would serve no purpose aside from exposing newcomers to the original game before they play the new game. However, I do believe this would be an interesting game to play on other mobile devices, because, while its highly unlikely Nintendo will ever release an Android or Ios compatible game, there are very few games available on any app stores that are bearable to play for more than 20 minutes (examples include Resident Evil 4 and Carnivores), and games like this would definitely change that. At the very least, it would be satisfactory if they ported this game to the upcoming Wii U.

Cryostasis: The Sleep of Reason (Should be Ported to Ps3, X-box 360)

Admittedly I haven't played much of this game myself, but from watching others play (directly and by watching gameplay footage), I can easily justify why a game like this should be ported to current generation consoles:
1: While there appears to be some highly noticeable and inconvenient bugs and problems with the graphics, these could be fixed, and because this is one of the game's most noticeable issues, the quality of the game overall would be greatly enhanced. If ported to a high definition system such as the Ps3, this game would look very impressive.
2: With a few exceptions (because there are always exceptions, with some exceptions of  course), the horror/ survival horror video game industry has been pretty weak lately. Personally, I haven't ventured into the Silent Hill series yet, so I can't dig too deeply into that grave, but upon perceiving the downfall of the Resident Evil series with the loss of the horror element, it's safe to assume that many current developers believe horror games don't stand a chance against larger and (excuse my very opinionated description) over-hyped action/ shooter games like Call of Duty. While this may seem like a depressing thought for survival horror enthusiasts at first, its leaves a generous space available for any developers who chose to embrace the genre. A game like this, which utilizes many major mechanics of survival horror, including a creepy plot which unfolds very slowly and mysteriously, dark and suspenseful environments, ways in which the player must work to maintain stable conditions, story telling through those who have already become victims of the horrifying danger(which is greatly enhanced by the ability to witness events from the eyes of victims through flash backs), would undoubtedly appeal to the curiosity and interest of many console gamers. If this game was to be ported to the Ps3 and X-box 360 and distributed as a downloadable game, the convenience of accessibility (along with a reasonable price) would eliminate any reasons not to purchase this game. If games of this style were to gain popularity, either more popular series, such as Resident Evil, would return to there roots, or new developers would fill the empty whole that said popular series has left empty with new and unique (and possibly better) games.
3: Concepts such as trophies and achievements could be easily incorporated into such a game as this.

Call of Juarez (Should be ported to Ps3)

I could draft a large list of reasons why this game should be ported to the Ps3, and while many of those reasons would be fairly obvious to anyone who's played this series, and several of the others would bash Call of Duty and other over-hyped games, this will probably be much more bearable to the readers of this post:

This game (a prequel) was on Ps3:

The Original Wasn't. This needs to be fixed. End of Story.

Well, that's all I'll be adding for now. As stated in the last post,  we will be returning to this list in the coming days/ weeks, so be on the lookout for further additions. Thanks for reading! If you would like to share your opinion about this post, or if there's any game you think should be added to this list, feel free to share your ideas in the comments section!

Games that need to be Modified and Ported

Let's face it, games lately just haven't been all that fantastic. I may be neglecting titles for the X-box 360 and Pc, being that I don't own the former and I'm not a hardcore Pc fanatic when it comes to newer games, but I've seen enough of every current generation gaming world to know that highly exceptional games just haven't been too common. Sure, there have been games like Uncharted and Starhawk (yes I'm in favor of Ps3 games but I'm sure there have been excellent games for other counsels as well), but there have been many more disappointments (cough cough Brink cough Call of Duty wheeze Resident Evil Operation Raccoon City). Many of these newer games brag about concepts like high definition graphics and 3d capability, and while these things may be cool at first, when the game play sucks, the effects wears off very quickly. It's games like these that make me wonder how awesome it would be if they took games that have always been great and rebooted them with new and improved graphics, better/ existing multiplayer options, and all the other common factors of most modern games. Below is a list of several games/series' that we would like to see reboots of:

Cabelas Big Game Hunter 2004

I haven't tried the multiplayer mode in this game yet, but I've heard a lot of good things about it, and if it was put on the Playstation Network, finding people to play with wouldn't be a problem. It would be pretty hard not to appreciate a Cabelas game with great graphics where you actually have to hunt for stuff.

Deer Hunter/ Bird Hunter/ Rocky Mountain Trophy Hunter Series

I didn't want to over do the whole hunting game thing so I'll list all of the Sunstorm/ Wizardworks games as one item. Hunting is one of my favorite game genres, and these games are the main reasons why; you don't just start in front of an animal, you actually have to hunt stuff. There's no short cheesy story or campaign, the game doesn't hold your hand the whole time, and they're not Call of Duty wanna-be's (according to Capcom's take on the new Resident Evil games, this is actually possible). These are real hunting games, where you go out into some dense forest, vast desert, or some frozen mountainous region, and use a selection of gear to track down your prey. If these were ported to newer generation consoles, or even the Android and Ios markets, we would finally be able to enjoy some real hunting action without having to get off the couch. (Not to mention I could spend more time hunting bigfoot in DH2 on the go).

Hunting Unlimited

Alright I promise this is the last hunting game series I'll discuss (because they already ported the  carnivores series). All of the Hunting Unlimited Games had a special feeling you just can't find in other games. The problem is, after they hit 2008, they did nothing to improve that feeling. Sadly, HU was one of the several victims of the Call of Duty effect(as I like to call it), and when I say this, I'm not alluding to the effect I've already discussed, where developers totally destroy their games trying to make them like COD because they don't realize people play those types of shooters for the multiplayer, not the campaign, I'm talking about the effect where they release a game every sequential year and make absolutely no substantial (and hardly any minor) changes to each sequel. If we could just take the mission style setup from the first game and combine it with the free hunt, multiplayer(I'm pretty sure they had this), and tournament modes from the later games, shove whatever that makes in the blender, and toss in some new graphics and character customization options, who wouldn't want to drink the final product (if you don't, it's probably because you were to lazy to hunt for anything in the first place, and you were probably pre-ordering Black Ops 2 as this was being typed)?

 Resident Evil

Hey Capcom, remember us, the fans of Resident Evil? Oh, really? Then explain this:

Yeah, that's what I thought. Remember this?:

That was a good thing. No, that was an excellent thing, one of the greatest games in the history of all survival horror games, worthy of challenging the puzzles of some of the lesser Zelda games (let's face it, Ocarina of Time just can't be challenged). This game was improved in every way from the original; the future of Resident Evil was carved out so well.

We were all eagerly awaiting for you to do the same thing to these:

And naturally this happened:

(Image depicting the first Call of Duty effect I described, courtesy of Capcom)
But, although many fans may disagree, it's not too late. If we can get a full remake of RE2 and RE3, and have the RE1 REmake ported to all counsels, life would just be good. I know this can be said about all of the previous games I listed, but think of all the possibilities for new game modes (in this case, maybe a mercenaries mode for RE1 where you play as S.T.A.R.S. members, and they could redo the existing unlock-able modes in RE2 and 3 as well), and maybe even trophies and achievements. Whether it be for Playstation, X-box, another Nintendo exclusive, or something we have to play on an insanely expensive calculator, this needs to happen soon; Resident Evil is pretty much dead, but that doesn't mean it can't come back to life, even if it smells a little funny and makes creepy groaning noises.

Well, you get the point for now. I'll definitely be adding on to this list in the coming weeks/ months, because, while I seriously doubt anyone will listen to any of this and actually do something about it, there's always a chance. If you don't believe that, explain this, unless you're too busy playing Modern Warefare 3.
