10: Team Fortress 2

The only online game I've seen where a sandwich can restore you're health.

9: Return To Castle Wolfenstein

8: Uncharted Series

While this series is most widely known for its profound campaign stories, the multiplayer does a great job of incorporating gameplay mechanics from the single player mode into multiplayer, such as climbing and the cover-system. However, one area this game could improve upon is making the hand to hand combat in multiplayer as awesome as it is in Uncharted 3.

7: Warhawk
This game takes flying mechanics from starfox and incorporates them in an awesome online multiplayer TPS. If you own a Ps3 and enjoy multiplayer games, you've most likely already played this one. Also, purchasing a headset to insult you're friends after you blow them up is always ideal.

6: Red Dead Redemption

This game definitely sets high expectations for co-op games and free-roaming games alike.

5: Call of Duty Series
Although not everyone agrees with the hype these games get, one cannot argue that they are some of the greatest games for intense online multiplayer experience. Just try not to irritate hardcore players and you'll probably survive.

4: Battlefield Series

Although they don't receive quit as much attention as the Call of Duty games, they are most certainly worthy of any gamer who enjoys first person shooters. Personally, I prefer larger maps in these kinds of games, and Battlefield 1943 can easily annihilate any chance you have of getting sleep at night, especially when playing with buddies.

2: Halo Series
The game that started the multiplayer system used by many online games.

1: Goldeneye 007

No other shooters had a chance to beat this one, online or local. While playing this game locally with friends can be more fun, you're probably saving them a few bruised shoulders by playing online.
