Top 10 Creepiest Scenes in Video Games

While some survival horror games are psychologically creepy the whole way through, others are very rarely "creepy", and rely more on suspense, horrifying antagonists, and unpleasant surprises more than unsettling occurrences. This list will credit the former, that being games with some of the most creepy and unsettling moments we have been doomed to witness. Happy Halloween, and with that, let the list begin!:

10. Ao Oni- Death of Mika

 (skip to 3:53)

I won't lie, I understand that there have been a lot of excellent indie survival horror games lately(Slender, Amnesia, Ao Oni, and several others), and they all have some pretty creepy moments from what I've heard, but, given that this is the only one I have played, I have to say this scene fits the list pretty well, complete with a creepy monster angling his head so that his eye's face the player just seconds after beginning to tear into one of your comrades.


9. Luigi's Mansion- Lion Head Statue Thing

(It was just to the right of this screen. I would take my own picture, but that would mean I would have to play through the game up to that point, and that would take effort.)


I don't know why, but this thing always used to creep me out.Oh, now I remember why, because it is freaking creepy.

8. The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time- Dead Hand

For those of you who thought Zelda was full of sunshine and rainbows.

7. Rocky Mountain Trophy Hunter 3- Wolf Head in Trophy Room

(Taken from the loading screen because I don't want to take the time to hunt, and by hunt I mean poach, one down. )

Something about wolves that have a seemingly grayish- minty green hue and look extremely hostile and carnivorous have always made me feel a bit unsettled. The worst part is, the game considers them "endangered", so they're not technically legal to kill. Of course I always obey in-video game laws(nervous laugh). 

6. Carnivores Cityscape- Abandoned Dino Corp ship 

While I believe this ties pretty closely with the creepy spiritual voice at the temple in the first Carnivores, I want to limit this list to one entry per series, and thus, because we spent three videos paying attention to the creepy voice, I chose The Ship.

5. Uncharted: Drakes Fortune- Death of Eddie and the "unwelcome guests"

I seriously didn't see this coming. It would have been worse if Drakes Deception, particularly its lack of extreme mythology, had come first in the series.

4. F.E.A.R. 3- Bathroom Stall

This game really needs more blood.

3. Singularity- Camera Scene

While this would easily fit on our yet-to-be "Top 10 Most Thrilling Scares and Startling Moments in Video Games" list, it's pretty creepy as well.

2. Resident Evil- The death of Kenneth

Pretty nasty stuff in both incarnations.

1. Silent Hill 2- Pyramid Head

Does this one really need any video or explanation? The side of his head is shaped like a freaking triangle! Any time he pops up, things are guaranteed to be extremely creepy.
