Top Ten Superhero Video Games by Jburrito

Hi guys (and gals) I’m not a frequent blogger at Gamed to Death, but I’ve been in a couple videos that you might have seen. When they asked me if I wanted to write the Top Ten Superhero list, I jumped at the offer. I hope you all like it.

10. Marvel: Avengers Alliance on Facebook

Marvel’s first strategy game on Facebook, Avengers Alliance is about a new S.H.E.I.L.D recruit (you) that has just finished initiation and is quickly thrown into action. You can buy weapons for your character, recruit a number of heroes to help you in battle, and send other heroes on missions elsewhere.

9. Marvel Pinball Playstation 3 and Xbox 360

It’s pinball, with Blade, Wolverine, Spiderman, Iron Man, the Fantastic Four, the Xmen, Moon Knight, Captain America, Thor, and Ghost Rider. If you don’t like it, there’s the door. =>

8. Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe Playstation 3 and Xbox 360

What would happen if someone put two total different companies, put them in one game and made them duke it out in a bloody, “take no prisoners” brawl. Well Midway did, but when Telltale vs. A Bunch of Bears was only successful in the southern regions of Canada, they thought of Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe. This game would be in the top 5 on my list, because of my favoritism of DC over Marvel, if it wasn’t for all the blood and gore. I know Mortal Kombat is known for having really gory games, and compared to their other games, this is a child’s game, but I’m not like others. I don't feel blood and gore are needed to make a game good.

 7. Drawn to life 1 and 2 for Nintendo DS

When I get to do my personal top 10 favorite games list, these games are definitely going on the list. YOU get to create the superhero and almost everything around you. If you really like games that involve creativity, I highly recommend this one.

6. Ultimate Marvel vs. Capacom 3 Xbox 360 Playstation 3 PS Vita
The third in the popular Marvel vs. Capcom series (or fourth if you count the not so ultimate marvel vs. Capcom 3 fate of two worlds), Ultimate Marvel vs. Capacom 3 has a host of 39 playable characters. This may not be as big as Marvel vs. Capcom 2’s 56 playable characters, but it’s still is a great game for those who are fans of Marvel, Capcom, and those who need to take out some aggression by punching the Nemesis in his green mutated FACE.

5. Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 Playstation 2 and 3 Xbox 360 and Wii

Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 is a great game. Fun gamplay, and the addition of team “fusion” moves are nothing to shake a stick at. It’s the way the characters and the story are set up that upset me. The whole story is the superheroes have been divided into those who will allow themselves to become government weapons, and those who have enough self respect to stand up for their rights. Two of the coolest Marvel superheroes in my opinion are Mr. Fantastic and Captain America. Because of this stupid feud, you can only play as them both  for the last few levels. And when you pick a side, half of the available characters are unavailable. Like if you pick Captain America’s side, you can’t play as Mr. Fanastic until the last few levels.

4. Fantastic Four Playstation2 and Gamecube

I’d have to say, the Fantastic Four are my favorite superhero foursome (that’s right American Crusaders, I’m talking about YOU). You and three friends play as either Human Tourch, Invisible Woman, The Thing, or Mr. Fantastic in a adventure loosely based on the Fantastic Four movie.

3. Marvel Ultimate Alliance 1

I believe the first Ultimate Alliance is a lot better than the second. There’s a large assortment of heroes to play as and the story line is just like something out of an old comic book.

2. Gotham City Imposters Xbox 360 and Playstation 3

Gotham City Imposters is a first person shooter that's about what happens in Gotham City when Batman is off doing heroic deeds elsewhere. It seems that a group of Joker wannabes come out to destroy Gotham, while a group of Batman wannabes try and stop them. This was also the first first-person shooter I got for my new Playstation.

1.      DC Universe Online Playstation 3 network, PC

DC Universe Online is a mmorpg taking place in the DC universe. You  play as one of many people that have just been gifted superpowers. You can choose your power, costume, your path (if your good or bad), and all kinds of stuff that is found in AWESOME rpgs. It’s all free, unlike most good mmorpgs but there is a legendary membership that gives you more characters, more money, and you don’t have to wait in a long line to log on. There are also dlcs that can be used in the game. The dlcs are The Battle For Earth, Lightning Strikes, and Fight For the Light. I have the Fight For the Light dlc because that one gives you Green Lantern powers and missions, and I am a huge Green Lantern fan.
