This Weekend I was sitting on my bed casually playing the game Alan Wake. My Friend Robert and I were in an xbox live party talking to me. He asked me why i stopped Achievement hunting. I told him that it got out of hand i began very competitively playing games buying stupid games just for achievements so i stopped. Then it happened. He doubted me. I chalenged him to a wager. 1,000 gamerscore in two days. The wager: a quarter. I already had it planned out i was going to beat Alan Wake then Battlefield 3 and the rest would be easy. but it wasn't that simple. When i started out I had 16,010 Gamerscore and i had to make it to 17,010 in two days averaging at 500 Gamerscore a day. I Swiftly Beat Alan Wake, and claimed 6 achievemets for 180 Gamerscore, finishing up the game Alan wake, and was on my way to get breakfast. After Breakfast we stopped at the shoe store and luckily. Right next to the shoestore was a Gamestop. I Studied all the games at the Gamestop when i remebered my bet. I picked up Borderlands and for fun i decided i would get F.E.A.R 3 and Guitar hero 5. I spent the rest of that day casually playing F.E.A.R 3 and Guitar Hero 5, I got home and began getting achievements casually. I received 15 Gamerscore from beating the first level of F.E.A.R 3 and was getting started on Borderlands. I played for a very long time. i got 150 Gamerscore from 10 achievements. I then whipped out Guitar hero 5 and played it for the rest of the night. getting 70 Gamerscore from 7 Achievements. I was behind by 705 Gamerscore, but the catch was that i had spent all day planning the next day and my plan was foolproof. The next day i woke up and began playing borderlands getting 130 Gamerscore, and F.E.A.R 3 getting 25 Gamerscore. in an hour or two. It was easy to beat the goal i just had to dedicate myself. soon my parents were telling me that i had to go, and get breakfast with them. After Breakfast i was eager to get home. when my parents mentioned going to see the movie haywire. We saw it. When i came back i regretted all of my procrastination but i still had my fool-proof plan. I started playing Battlefield 3 beating the game and getting the Butterfly, Practice makes Perfect, No escape, Between a Rock and a Hard Place, and Ooh-rah achievements for 115 Gamerscore. It wasn't great but then i realized that i had 5 Hours to get 430 Gamerscore, and i only had one more back-up plan left. That was when it happened. The realization that i could do it. Robert didn't know what i was capable of. He raised the ante. One Dollar. This was serious. I put on the Queen's Greatest Hits Cd. The Cd that i would listen to when i was a hardcore achievement hunter. I was listening to Another one Bites the Dust as I was playing Left4Dead 2 My plan was to beat the parish campaign with melee weapons and get 20
Gamerscore from beating the campaign and doing it with melee weapons getting me 30 Gamerscore making a total of 50 Gamerscore. I did it completely Legitimately and i never got the Confederacy In Crutches Achievement, My friend Stefan decided to count it because i had video evidence. I beat the campaign also getting the HEAD HONCHO and BRIDGE OVER TREBLED SLAUGHTER achievements. Making my total 85 Gamerscore, and anyone who thinks that was easy underestimates how hard it is to cross the bridge finale in less than three minutes with a melee weapon, and computer teammates. I then picked up Borderlands and got, 7 Achievements for 110 Gamerscore. i then realized that i had only 3 hours left. I looked at my Gamerscore i needed 235 Gamerscore. I was behind and i had no idea what to play. I picked up various games getting 2 Achievements in Saints Row the third for 30 Gamerscore. I lost an hour from that. I played Guitar Hero 5 getting 30 Gamerscore in another hour. Suddenly my friend joined my Xbox Live Party and Played F.E.A.R 3 with me we grinded out the 4th interval. getting us 15 Gamerscore. We needed 220 Gamerscore in a half an hour. we only ended up getting 60 Gamerscore. Making me 160 Gamerscore Away from my goal. The bet was over. I stood awake at night, until i realized. the deal was 1,000 Gamerscore over the weekend. I remembered that i had already played Alan Wake for an hour before we made the bet. I had 175 Gamerscore more. But alas Robert did not believe me. I was sad and in the school halls i approached him and said. "Double or Nothing."
